Shatner Urges Fans To Help Terminally-Ill Boy
1 min readWilliam Shatner has begun a campaign on Twitter to help a young teenager who is terminally-ill with only a few weeks to live.
Maddox Hyde, an eighth-grade student, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma; a cancer that “develops from immature nerves cells.” Hyde’s cancer began on his right adrenal gland.
For over eight years, Hyde has been fighting the cancer; going briefly into remission. But tumors kept popping up in different parts of his body; including the hip, spine and the back base of his head. Hyde and his family have now elected to stop treatment and focus on keeping his pain under control.
Hyde has asked for Christmas cards from all over the world and word of that reached Shatner, who tweeted “Maddox Hyde is a fourteen-year-old who has only been given a few weeks to live and wants as many Holiday Cards as possible.
His address:
Maddox Hyde
333 Ohio St.
Reynoldsville, PA, 15851”
How about joining Shatner and his fans in making a young man’s last wish come true.
