Pine To Play Watergate’s John Dean

Star Trek Beyond‘s Chris Pine is set to play John Dean, President Richard Nixon‘s White House Counsel from July 1970 through April 1973.
Amazon Studios will develop the film about Dean, best-known for his role in the Watergate cover-up, and then as a witness for the prosecution.
The film will be about the life and political career of Dean, who eventually pled guilty to obstruction of justice and received a prison term, which ended up being four months in length. He was disbarred as a lawyer in both the District of Columbia and Virginia.
Dean and his manager Rick Berg will executive produce the film, which will be written by Evan Parter.
