Shatner Good Morning America Appearance

1 min read

William Shatner sat down recently with Good Morning America‘s Josh Elliott for a short interview where the topics included his age, why he decided to do Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It and his relationship with Star Trek fandom.

Opening night on Broadway for Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It and dinner afterwards at Sardi’s brought something unexpected and unwanted by Shatner, and it wasn’t bad reviews.

When asked how the opening night went, Shatner said, “How was it? Well I’d love to say ‘I absorbed every second of it,’ but I got food poisoning. So the lack of absorption was really good. I played hurt.”

Shatner also spoke about his relationship with his fandom. “I don’t know how it’s evolved,” said Shatner. “I’ve always appreciated someone saying “Hey, we like you. We’re going to watch you on Good Morning America and hopefully the little tick in your ratings…and they’re there, and I’m totally grateful.

A clip was then shown of Shatner as Kirk wresting the Gorn (Arena) and Shatner quipped, “That is in fact, a fan.”
