Eve On Prepping For Trek

1 min read

Star Trek newcomer Alice Eve spoke recently about how long it takes to get ready for her filming day on Star Trek 2.

“I’m a healthy amount of time in the makeup chair, though not as long as Spock,” she said.

Like everyone else involved with the production, Eve is careful about what she reveals about her work on the Abrams sequel. “We were filming until very late last night, and I know that’s all I can say,” she said. “It’s a top-secret operation; it’s like a war.”

But “a few things” will surprise Star Trek fans about her performance, said Eve. And she’s having a good time working on Star Trek 2. “I’m having a lot of fun, and it’s a very special experience to be on J.J.’s movies,” she said. “He’s a real good leader.”

  1. She kind of looks like a random TOS guest actor. Maybe it’s the hair. I hope they put vasoline on the lens for her close up or whatever it would be they used then to blur out an imperfections in the skin. That would be a groovy retro shout out.

  2. I’m reminded of a story that was posted here some time back when they were still in the writing process about a big meeting where they’d superimposed pointed ears onto a picture of an actress… Alice could certainly pull off a vulcan…

  3. Based on this picture, yes. I can see that. Or…
Oh shit. Not Saavik. Not twenty-plus years-too-early Saavik. Please no.

    However…

    T’Pring?

  4. in the 1960’s (certainly on Star Trek) they’d put vaseline i think it was on the lens of the camera for the close ups of actresses to blur out imperfections and make them more glamorous and perfect

  5. I think she is the one that is going to have the one eye, from the cyclops like alien race. But, I don’t understand what she meant by wars being top-secret? Is she saying she is fighting with actors, secretly, on the set, but it is hush-hush?

Here is a hint she gives about her Star Trek role:

“When a group of people you can hang out and work with and know a good real experience, a bit like going back to college or something, when everyone else the same goal … There are a lot of energy, and is a beautiful thing to be part of this group. This is the only thing I’m most excited about him. Obviously, there is a huge heritage with ‘Star Trek’ and the fans, so hopefully he’ll be satisfied.”
