Quinto To Host Irish Actor Class
1 min readStar Trek into Darkness‘ Zachary Quinto will be hosting an actor’s masterclass next month.
The class will take place at the 25th Galway Film Fleadh on July 12.
The six-day 2013 International Galway Film Fleadh is held July 9-14, and premieres the newest in Irish cinema, with premieres of new Irish films each evening of the Fleadh.
Quinto’s Actors Masterclass will “provide an intensive interactive environment in ‘the skills, methodology and aesthetics of film acting aimed at actors working or wanting to work more in the recorded media.” Quinto will also answer questions and provide tips to aspiring actors.
Galway is not unfamiliar territory to Quinto, who lived there one summer. “I lived in Ireland for three and a half months when I was between junior and senior year,” he said. “I waited tables in this raucous coffee house which was quite adventurous. We were right across the street from a nightclub which closed at 2.00am so that was our busiest time.
“It was a really archaic coffee shop and there were no computers so we’d write the orders on little scraps of paper which we’d then place on the top of the toaster and hold down with knives. Of course they’d curl up with the heat and people would be screaming ‘where’s my coffee?’ and we’d say, ‘sorry your order went on fire.'”
