Saldana To Voice Star In Book Of Life

Star Trek into Darkness‘ Zoë Saldana will be heard in 20th Century Fox Animation’s The Book of Life.

Saldana joins Channing Tatum, Diego Luna, Ice Cube, Kate del Castillo, Ron Perlman and Christina Applegate in the animated comedy.

Produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Jorge Gutierrez (who co-wrote the screenplay with Doug Langdale), The Book of Life is the story of the “journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears.”

The Book of Life, which will release October 17, 2014, is Saldana’s first major animated work.
