No more personal comments. I have dealt with the poster.
And to you too, sir.
Despite our difference of opinion, I still respect you as a science fiction writer, and I still enjoy ‘The Trouble With Tribbles’ and More Tribbles, More Troubles’.
Whether you believe that or not is your choice.
No, I don’t swing that way.
Thank you.
I know some people who have had the misfortune of dealing with Vic before. Some of which who work on Phase 2. And believe me, those who have dealt with Vic and to some degree or another with Farragut Films, have regretted dealing with Vic and hate him for all the problems that he has caused.
As I said, I don’t swing that way. As for my reasons for hating him, I’ll give your four.
1. He has hurt quite a few of my friends.
2. he continues to backstab other people and twist the knife in further for reasons that are quite twisted.
3. His near sabotage(by an act of proxy)of a project that I was working on some years past.
4. I’m a parent…and that is all you need to know!
You’re welcome.
To quote a famous Federation Starship Captain…
“War is a very messy business. A very, very messy business.”
– Captain James Tiberius Kirk, U.S.S. Enterprise : NCC-1701
“A Taste Of Armageddon”
Apologies. Passion took over.
omg
To use one of my favorite sayings, “Don’t make me go Romulan on your ass!”
(Although I’m a great fan of Kirk.)
I asked if Mr. Brougton told you that. if anybody else told you that – it is hearsay.
I’m a fan of Jim Kirk, too. I’m glad that we at least have something in common.
Balance of Terror is one of my favorite episodes.
I’m afraid it is not hearsay. As far as John Broughton is concerned, anything he has told me before was in direct conflict with other information that had been revealed to me by others.
I could say the same about the constant negativity and vitriol hurled towards J.J. Abrams and the prequel reboots. If anything has crossed from obnoxious into BOOOOORING, it is the constant insults and degrading remarks about those subjects. And those have been way much worse than anything negative that I have posted about Vic, STC, SF, and FF.
in other words, what the person involved said was not what “others” revealed to you. Since the person directly involved knows what happened to him (because he was there) tells a different story than people who were not there, you are definitely listening to hearsay.
T’Bonz, what happened with voting? Why isn’t it possible to vote down anymore?
You’re crazy.
You’re only using that other fan production for your dishonorable goals. Stop using them for your filthy personal vendetta.
There is five, actually.
5. You are crazy.
Thank you.
Again – no personal attacks in the thread. I will start removing people, not just comments.
I don’t know. Antony handles the technical aspects of the place.
No personal comments. If someone needs slapped down, I will take care of it. Thank you.
Please ask Antony about that. Thanks.
I am not insane.
As I said, I am not insane.
I’m afraid that you are acussing the wrong person of those two descriptions, trekfan.
Those people that you claim were not there, were there when that unpleasantness erupted.
OK.
the important point is – were YOU there? Unless YOU witnessed it first hand, anything else is hearsay.
Whether I was there or not, having experienced the same unpleasantness that some of my friends and others(who are not) also experienced, I have NO reason to doubt their word.
ah, so it is your friends (and others) who have TOLD you – that is called hearsay. YOU were not there – therefore you cannot state exactly what happened. Your comments would not be admissible in a courtroom. If they can’t hold up in a court of law, they can’t be believed online either.
And you just screwed your credibility son.
As I stated before, having been burned by that same individual, I have NO reason to doubt their word. NO REASON WHATSOEVER!
If anyone has screwed their credibility, it is that individual. And I might also add, his business partners at FF who just can’t seem to realize that they are complicit in that individual’s unethical and immoral acts. Even FF’s VP still refuses to make the connection between that individual taking the SA sets and FF ending up with them.
The reason being for their refusal is because they know it is the truth and the stain won’t wash out.
FF is in bed with a skunk and the stink is going to stick with them. They are learning the hard way.
I also forgot to add that your writing for the Logan’s Run TV series(which was a piece of childish crap and NO WHERE near as great as the box office hit Oscar-winning 1976 MGM film)was definitely hypocritical. You don’t like the book and the movie, and yet you wrote an episode for the lower than artistic quality CBS TV series.
Very hypocritical.
Thank you for sharing that.
Yes, you’re right. I’m a terrible person and a dreadful writer.
I will return all the awards and all the money and have myself flogged on your behalf.
May I humbly suggest that in the future, if my work offends you so much, that you invest your time in shows written by far better writers than myself.
Obviously, I am not worthy of any more of your time.
Your welcome.
Just to be clear, I never said that you were a terrible person. I never said that you are a dreadful writer. And I never said that your work offended me. If I thought those specific negative observations, I would voice them in a very straightforward, direct, and blunt manner.
Having yourself subjected to such physical punishment for your over-reaction sounds a bit extreme. But, whatever makes you happy.
All I did was just make the logical observation that your writing for one particular version of a futuristic world that you clearly disdain was a sign hypocrisy.
Obviously, you can’t handle criticism.
Correction – sign of hypocrisy. Pardon the typo.
How can I tell you how honored I am that you have chosen to focus your attention on me and give me the benefit of your limitless wisdom?
You are right. You are SOOO right. I am humbled before the astonishing precision of your insights.
You are right that I have never had any criticism of any kind, ever before in my life, and you are right that I just don’t know how to handle that kind of feedback. The world of publishing as well as the world of television is such a sheltered environment, I have been living in a well-protected bubble of privilege. This is the first time in my life anyone has given me a negative remark.
I admit it, I am crushed. I am despondent. I am distraught beyond all human comprehension. I have spent hours crying into a silk pillow, despairing of my failures as a human being, and my total inability to deal with the high standards of behavior you have demanded of me.
I have been so staggered by the harsh brilliance of your analysis of my failings that I nearly forgot to cash my latest royalty check, almost neglected to polish my brand new Stoker award, and barely arrived at the airport on time to catch the flight to the convention where I am guest of honor (the third one this year and still three more to go.)
Once again, I humbly suggest that I am not worthy of your valuable time. You have so many more important things to do and so many more important people to criticize. I am certain you would do so much better to find a higher class of person who is not only worthy of your attention, but much better able to deal with your righteous authority than myself.
Sincerely, etc.
I don’t have limitless wisdom. Just wisdom in general. Any human being that claims to have limitless wisdom, harsh brilliance, and righteous authority has an ego problem the size of Mount Rushmore. Or worse, an Orpheus asteroid.
Speaking of egos…Man, with that type of over-reacting, you really have proven that you have a huge ego. Some of those stories from other fans describing their encounters with you are obviously quite accurate.
Again, as Blue Thunder has said, the same could be said about all of the bitching directed towards the Star Trek movies and J.J. Abrams. Why not just try and get over it, and accept the movies?
Can this goodwill please be extended to Star Trek Into Darkness?
