Star Trek: The Exhibition Heads North

Good news for fans of Star Trek: The Exhibition living in Minnesota; the attraction is headed your way.
Star Trek: The Exhibition will arrive at the Mall of America and will remain there for six months.
On Friday, May 16, Star Trek: The Exhibition will open in the new third-floor exhibition area in the mall.
Fans can see the “largest traveling collection of authentic Star Trek artifacts, featuring costumes, sets and props from all five Star Trek TV series and eleven Star Trek feature films.”
This reporter saw the attraction several years ago at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and it is a “don’t miss” attraction, especially for fans of the original series and The Next Generation because of the replica sets that can be explored.
There is plenty for fans of the other series though, with costumes and props (both authentic and replica).

Hmmm…be a little wary of this exhibit. I went to it a few years back when it came out my way, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Most of the props on exhibit were not originals but rather replicas. And you weren’t even allowed to take your own pictures…but you could of course pay more (above the entry price) to have a photo taken on a so-so replica of the NOS bridge.
Maybe it’s improved since then (I hope so!)…but the above was my experience, FWIW.
I live in the Twin Cities and I am super excited about this! I heard about it the other day on the radio. Now all I have to do is find parking at MOA. 🙂
I went to it when it was at the Kennedy Space Center and there was no extra cost and one could take one’s own pictures on the Bridge and while jumping through the Guardian of Forever. We took a zillion.
