The second volume of IDW Publishing‘s Gold Key Archives will arrive in stores this autumn.

The Gold Key Archives, Volume 2 will collect Gold Key Star Trek comics in a new omnibus collection.

The comic pages feature remastered artwork, with “fresh new colors making the Gold Key art shine like it never has before.”

This volume collects Gold Key issues #7-12, including The Voodoo Planet, the Legacy of Lazarus, The Brain Shocker, and more.

One-hundred-and-sixty-eight pages in length, the hardback book will be released October 7, and will cost $21.77. To pre-order, head to the link located here.

  1. Where did you read “superbly fantastic”? Apart from that you should familiarize yourself with the history of ST comics before you call these comics ridiculously bad. I’m not in the mood to do so right now but you can find a lot on the internet or here in the forum.

  2. “Superbly fantastic” is said by Spock on the first panel on the third screen shot.

    I have a collection of all the Gold Key Star Trek comics on DVD-ROM, and have to say that at least the early issues are pretty awful. The character models are often way off, colors bizarre, dialog indicating that they are in other galaxies (this is a perfect example), flames coming out of the warp engines, at least one plot where the resolution is alien genocide, etc. But it is a fun piece of ST history and there are some classics here and there.
