In Star Trek #39, The Q Gambit, Kirk and Sisko must work together to fight the Dominion.
In doing so, the duo will face a familiar villain, in addition to having to deal with Q.
In this latest saga of The Q Gambit story, Spock will be trying to free the Enterprise and her crew from “the clutches of the nefarious Dukat. And just what is Q planning for everyone involved?”
Written by Mike Johnson, with art and cover by Tony Shasteen, the issue, which was overseen by Roberto Orci, is due out in November.
Star Trek #39 will be thirty-two pages in length and will sell for $3.99. A subscription variant cover will feature a Deep Space Nine photo cover.

Negative Nancy strikes again. Hates new Trek, hates when old Trek is referenced.
Do it right or don’t do it at all. Words of wisdom Orci and the studio doesn’t seem to understand. That’s not being negative, that’s holding people who expect us to pay them for what they make to a higher expectation. Nothing wrong with that at all!
If they are using Q and Dukat and Sisko and DS9…. cant they at least make him look like SHATNER instead of PINE???
Looks like a mistake. If it isn’t, I’d certainly treat it like one. Reprint it with Shatner.
Its been a good series so far…this q storyline is off to a good start! I could care less if kirk looks like pine or shatner….its the only new star trek we have right now and the writing has been good! ill buy it till it ends!
If you really want new TOS, try watching one of the 3 full length episodes of Star Trek Continues, on line…. they are really good.
I have no problem with Kirk looking like Pine when dealing with events solely part of Nu-Trek, but when referencing original timeline events and characters, it is much more jarring. For a lot of people, the two chartacters honestly have very little in common, and the visual representation completely affects the way the character comes across.
I agree, Star Trek Continues is more true to “Star Trek” than the Abrams films are.
Given the new Trek crew can now communicate across infinite range with their souped up communicators, access Spock’s knowledge of the future at will, transport instantly across any distance and revive the dead with magic blood, I’m a little at a loss as to what Q is bringing to the story? Maybe he is there to ground things a little?
