VES Award For Abrams
1 min readJ.J. Abrams received an award at the 13th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards yesterday.
Presenting the award to Abrams was Zoë Saldana , in her first public appearance since the birth of her twins.
The VES Awards “recognize and honor the most outstanding visual effects work of the year and honors the artists who created them.”
Abrams received the Visionary Award. The Visionary Award “recognizes an individual who has uniquely and consistently employed the art and science of visual effects to foster imagination and ignite future discoveries by way of artistry, invention and groundbreaking work.”
Saldana praised Abrams, saying, “This man has truly done many things, but one thing he did no man has done before: He gave Spock a girlfriend. And then he gave me a job too.”
> one thing he did no man has done before: He gave Spock a girlfriend
Zoe, Spock’s had plenty of love interests; go watch Star Trek (the real thing) to inform yourself.
…and a computer was wheeled onto the stage to accept the award for Abrams.
Nah, just a giant spotlight.
Here is one award for Abrams that is long overdue
What movie was this for? It is for the most outstanding visual effects of the year but he hasn’t released anything since Into Darkness which was mid-2013. How exactly do you get an award when you didn’t meet the basic criteria? Pretty funny too since his big promise with the new Star Wars film was that he was going back to more old-school practical effects instead of cgi. Nah, they are not trying to push JJ as a great director when he really isn’t by doing stuff like this. Nah, not Hollywood. They would never lie or give an award without merit.
yeah, but he never had a girlfriend! lol you know the difference? 😛
One twat honoring another one.
Fuck off!
They don’t know because they never had one.
Aww,poor baby-did Abrams make you poop your pants in the wrong way and at the wrong time? Buck up and take it, and stop being an obdurate fool.
Make that three.
It’s the ST. He turned ST (the reboot) into a remake of the original SW. Also lens flare.
