Cumberbatch To Receive CBE
1 min readStar Trek into Darkness‘ Benedict Cumberbatch will receive a CBE at the Queen’s birthday honors this weekend.
The CBE will be awarded for his contributions in the field of drama.
A CBE is short for “Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire,” and “is given to those who have a prominent role at a national level in their field – in [Cumberbatch’s] case, drama.
However, it is a lesser title than a knighthood or damehood, which is awarded to those who have had a significantly long-running contribution in their area.”
The nomination has evidently ruffled some feathers, with some believing that Cumberbatch, at thirty-eight, is too young for the award, which is usually given to someone “towards the end of their careers.”
Congratulations! Kang wonders what the Queen’s favorite Sherlock episode is.
Cannot stand him! Never watched anything with him in since the first time. Don’t think he can act, not good looking and comes over like a pretentious snob!
