Nimoy Documentary To Air Nationwide

1 min read

Fans envious of those in Boston who were able to view the Remembering Leonard Nimoy documentary last month need be jealous no longer with the news that PBS will be airing the show nationwide this fall.

American Public Television made the announcement that various PBS stations will air the documentary on November 1. When the list of stations is announced, TrekToday will report on that.

“This was a heartfelt biography of a beloved popular culture figure,” said American Public Television in a statement. “We expect this will be well received by viewers as it offers an intimate look at Leonard Nimoy as a son, father, husband and a (later-in-life) social media activist. The film also puts a (well-known) human face on COPD as it documents how Leonard and his family dealt with a progressive condition, how he went public with his disease, and the effects it had on his life and family, etc. We admire the goal to honor Leonard’s legacy by raising public awareness of COPD.”

Directed by Nimoy’s daughter, Julie Nimoy, and son-in-law, David Knight, Remembering Leonard Nimoy made its television debut last month in Boston. The documentary includes interviews with Nimoy’s family members, including his children and stepchildren, widow and grandchildren. Fans can look forward to “never-seen-before” home videos and photographs.

Remembering Leonard Nimoy will also be screened during this summer’s Star Trek Las Vegas convention.
