Stewart: No To Holiday Homes

1 min read

A new construction program in the UK faces opposition by Sir Patrick Stewart.

The construction would turn an airfield located in Chipping Norton into twenty-eight luxury holiday homes, a corporate hospitality building and a museum for classic cars.

Stewart wrote to the West Oxfordshire district council to protest the proposed plan. “There is also too much of a commercial and elitist aspect to all this: fabulously expensive historic cars, Bentley cars showroom and houses costing five or six million pounds,” he said. “This is a greenfield site and there is no mention of affordable housing. The developer is a multimillionaire and is on record as saying that if there were local objections he would at once seek another site. He should.”
