Trek Films Announced At CinemaCon

Today, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Paramount Studio Chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos announced that there would be two new Star Trek films coming, not just one.

Fandango‘s Erik Davis, in attendance, posted on his Twitter feed that “they are working on two new movies. At first he (Gianopulos) said ‘several new Star Trek movies and then clarified that it was two right now in the works.”

Bloomberg NewsAnousha Sakoui said that “pre-production has started on a Terminator film and two Star Trek movies are in the works, Jim Gianopulos, Paramount chief said.”

Two movies could mean a George Kirk story AND a Quentin Tarantino one.

No other details on the two Trek films were provided.
