Pegg: Don’t Expect Tarantino Trek Soon

1 min read

For fans waiting for the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek movie, Simon Pegg says that it’s going to take a while before that movie hits movie screens.

“Quentin’s idea is another thing,” said Pegg. “[Quentin] came in to (Abrams‘ production company) Bad Robot and pitched it and it’s been put in the bank. I think he had us in mind when he came up with the idea; he likes the new cast. But he’s going to be so busy with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that I can’t see him doing it for five or six years, by which time we might be too old anyway.”

So don’t expect to see that movie until after Star Trek 4.

In the meanwhile, Pegg has nothing but praise for the director of Star Trek 4, S.J. Clarkson, who is the first female to direct a Trek film. “I’ve met with S.J. and she’s fizzing with ideas and she has the right attitude,” said Pegg. “She’s reverent, but she’s not slavish.”
