Nimoy Talks Fringe
1 min readLeonard Nimoy may have thought he was finished with acting, but it’s hard to pass up a good role.
First it was a chance to replay Spock in J.J. Abrams‘ reboot of Star Trek, and now Nimoy will be appearing in a recurring role on Fringe. “I’m in a state of shock,” said Nimoy. “I don’t know how it happened. I’m asking myself: How do these strange things happen to a life when you’ve made your plans and things change?”
Nimoy will be playing Dr. William Bell on Fringe. He is already having fun with the role. “I’m enjoying it,” he said. “It’s intriguing. It’s thought-provoking. The work is good. The scripts are interesting and multi-layered.”
His character Bell is a “combination of the richest man in the world and a Timothy Leary-type scientist,” said Nimoy. “We’re not quite sure what his intentions are. He seems to be sincere. Time will tell whether he is really giving out good advice or being misleading.”
Nimoy has done two episodes of Fringe so far. “I think I will do at least one more, and then we’ll see what happens,” he said.
