1 min readGene Roddenberry‘s son Rod announced that Roddenberry Productions has entered into a deal to develop one of his father’s projects from the 1970s.
At the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame ceremony where his father was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame, Rod Roddenberry announced that Roddenberry Productions has entered into a deal with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television to develop The Questor Tapes.
The Questor Tapes, which originally aired in 1974 as a television movie, was the story of an android with incomplete memory tapes who searches for his creator and his purpose.
“My father always felt that Questor was the one who got away,” said Rod Roddenberry. “He believed that the show had the potential to be bigger than Star Trek.”
Roddenberry Productions and Imagine Television’s team is currently in negotiation with writer, producer, and show runner Tim Minear (Lois & Clark, The X-Files, Angel, Dollhouse) to produce.
