As reported by Star Trek: Online, the history of the Star Trek: Online MMORPG has been updated to include 2387.The “Jellyfish,” an experimental spaceship featuring trans-metaphasic shielding, has been successfully launched by the Daystrom Institute. The “Jellyfish” was designed by engineer Geordi La Forge.
Starfleet Intelligence is keeping an eye on the Orion Syndicate after the assassination of the top Syndicate boss. Criminal activity has declined in the past few years due to a crackdown, but with the emergence of an Orion as the new top boss, there are concerns about the return of the Orions as an interstellar power.
On Ferenginar, Grand Nagus Rom continues with his social and economic reforms and wishes to formally align the Ferengi with the Federation, to the dismay of some of his people.
While the Cardassians are disarming their military, the Jem’Hadar are establishing a base of operations near a former Dominion ketracel-white storage facility.
A star in the far reaches of the Romulan space begins to exhibit massive fluxuations of radiation, and the fear is that a supernova would threaten much of the Romulan Empire.
