Paramount Announces Trek Blu-ray Releases

September will be a good month for Star Trek fans, as several Blu-Ray releases will debut.

As reported by high def disc news, September 22 will see the release of the various Blu-Ray sets, ranging from season two of the original series, to Star Trek: Nemesis.
Season two of the original series will be offered on Blu-Ray as a seven-disk set, including all twenty-six episodes. Fans will be able to see the show as originally aired, or as remastered versions.

Also included will be hours of featurettes, interactive bonus features and new clips via BD-Live. According to the Paramount press release, every disc is Mobile Blu enabled, allowing iPhone users to “turn their phones into a Blu-ray remote control and download exclusive content to their iPhones.”

Star Trek: The Next Generation fans will be able to purchase all of the Next Generation movies in Blu-ray or DVD in one complete set. The Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection five-disc box set contains the four films plus a fifth disc with loads of extras, including interviews, storyboard, deleted scenes, featurettes and more.

Four original series movies will be released individually on Blu-ray on September 22. Movies included are: Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Voyage Home, Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, and Star Trek: First Contact.
