Spring Trek Convention And Show Guide
2 min readIn a new monthly feature for TrekToday, fans can see just which conventions or shows will be featuring Star Trek actors who were regulars or guest stars on various Star Trek shows or movies.
There will be four conventions or shows in April and May that feature Trek actors of interest, including: Sci-Fi on the Rock, Hollywood Show, Vulcan, and Phoenix Comicon.
This month’s listing of conventions and shows for the next three months feature Star Trek actors from all five series, plus several of the Star Trek movies.
First off, for Canadian fans, Sci-Fi on the Rock will hold its fourth convention on April 17 and 18 in St. John’s Newfoundland. Sci-Fi on the Rock is a science fiction & fantasy convention, which brings authors and actors together to “share their wealth of experiences, memories and talents.”
Special guest stars of note to Trek fans include Casey Biggs (Deep Space Nine: Damar) and Max Grodénchik (Deep Space Nine: Rom).
From April 23-25, the Hollywood Show, an autograph show held four times a year in Burbank, California, will feature two Star Trek actors, Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager: EMH) and Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation: Troi).
The newly-formed Vulcan will take place in Tampa, Florida from April 30-May 2. One of the featured guests is Christopher Lloyd (Star Trek: The Search for Spock: Commander Kruge) and there are several guest stars of interest, especially for fans of the original series Where No Man Has Gone Before episode.
Gary Lockwood (Gary Mitchell) and Sally Kellerman (Dr. Elizabeth Dehner) will be making an appearance as bonus guests at Vulcan. Other Star Trek actors of note: Gary Graham (Star Trek: Enterprise: Ambassador Soval), Catherine Hicks (Star Trek: The Voyage Home: Dr. Gillian Taylor) and Tony Todd (Star Trek: The Next Generation/Deep Space Nine: Kurn).
Vulcan features special performances, a costume contest, special panels and optional add-ons for an additional price, such as professional photo sessions with the stars, and a banquet with the stars.
In May, several Star Trek actors, including three from Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be appearing at the Phoenix Comicon, a pop culture event focusing on comic books, anime, gaming, sci-fi and film.
In attendance at Phoenix Comicon will be Gary Lockwood (original series: Where No Man Has Gone Before), Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton and Wil Wheaton.
Phoenix Comicon will take place May 27-30.
