Yelchin In Talks For Horror Film Remake

1 min read

Anton Yelchin, best-known to Star Trek fans as the new Pavel Chekov, is in talks to star as the lead in the remake of a 1985 vampire movie.

If the talks work out, Yelchin would take on the role of Charley Brewster in the remake of Fright Night.

In the original Fright Night, teenager and horror film fan Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) is convinced that his new neighbor Jerry is a vampire, but no one believes him.

A sequel was made in 1988, in which Regina, the sister of Jerry, is out for revenge, planning to turn Charlie into a vampire, so that his punishment will be eternal.

The remake of Fright Night will keep the comedy and horror aspect of the original film, but update the special effects. The script will be penned by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) and it has been reported that Craig Gillespie (Mr. Woodcock, Lars and the Real Girl) will direct.
