1 min read

William Shatner fans waiting for word on when his documentary on the captains of Star Trek need wonder no more, as an air date has just been released.

The Captains will be part of Shatnerpalooza, a forty-eight-hour “on air marathon” of Shatner’s television and movie work.

Shatnerpalooza will air on Thursday, July 21 on all EPIX platforms, including the EPIX channel, SVOD service, EPIXHD.com and other Internet connected devices.

The centerpiece of Shatnerpalooza will be The Captains, which takes an “in-depth look at the Star Trek franchise through the experiences of each actor who has played a Starfleet captain, including Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, Chris Pine and Shatner himself.”

In addition to The Captains, Shatnerpalooza will also feature: all six original series films, The Intruder, Big Bad Mama, Disaster on a Coastline and Broken Angel. Television shows featuring Shatner will include: the classic 1964 Outer Limits episode (Cold Hands, Warm Heart), Shatner as the first host of Iron Chef and Shatner’s infamous TV roast.

The Shatner lovefest will continue on EPIX in July, with the airing of William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet.

“From film and TV icon to hipster hero, William Shatner is a man of many talents,” said EPIX President and CEO Mark Greenberg. “We are proud to celebrate him as actor, producer, director and cultural phenomenon and to bring his contributions to fans on EPIX and EpixHD.com.”
