October-November Trek Convention Appearances
2 min readThere will be nine conventions, shows or appearances in October and November that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.
October will start off with The Official Star Trek Convention, which will take place from today-October 2, and will be held at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. In attendance will be: Leonard Nimoy, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Nichelle Nichols, John de Lancie, Dominic Keating, Connor Trinneer, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and Arlene Martel.
This will be Leonard Nimoy‘s final convention appearance.
Next up is Collectormania London, which will be held at the Earls Court Exhibition Center in London, England from October 1-2. In attendance at Collectormania London will be Armin Shimerman, Jennifer Lien, the original series Eddie Paskey, Douglas Tait (Deep Space Nine: Children of Time), Kitty Swink (Deep Space Nine) and Dan Shor (Arridor on both Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Price and Star Trek: Voyager: False Profits).
From October 8-9, the Garden State Comic Con, a comic, toy, sci-fi and fantasy expo will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. In attendance at Garden State Comic Con will be Jonathan Frakes and John de Lancie.
EspaTrek will be held from Oct 21-23 at the Hotel Silken Zentro in Zaragoza, Spain. In attendance at EspaTrek will be Garrett Wang and Vaughn Armstrong.
Next up is the Mid-Ohio Comic Con, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center located in Columbus Ohio. The Mid-Ohio Comic Con will run from Oct 22-23 and in attendance will be Walter Koenig.
On the same weekend, Armageddon Expo 2011 will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, Australia. In attendance at Armageddon Expo 2011 Melbourne will be Morgan Sheppard and Robert Picardo.
There will also be a Armageddon Expo 2011 held in Auckland, NZ from Oct 28-31 at the ASB Showgrounds. In attendance will be Morgan Sheppard.
Wrapping up October will be Vulcan Events Away Mission. Held at the Hilton Orlando Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from Oct 28-30, Vulcan Events will feature Sir Patrick Stewart in a rare Florida convention appearance, Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, David Warner, Sherry Jackson, Jennifer Hetrick, Phil Morris (child actor in Miri), Rick Sternbach, Larry Nemecek and Lolita Fatjo.
In November, Comikaze Expo will be held on November 5-6 at the LA Convention Center. In attendance will be: Robert Beltran, Jennifer Lien, Tim Russ, Gary Graham, John de Lancie, Robert Picardo, Garrett Wang, Marina Sirtis, Catherine Hicks, Richard Herd and Chase Masterson.

I cannot express the emotions I felt when I first read that this would be Mr. Leonard Nimoy’s final appearance at a Star Trek convention… I felt that, pretty much, Star Trek was coming to an end. I understand now that, while Trek must be very important to him (as he has shown), his true life is even greater– and he must fulfill it. His photography and all future endeavors are, and will be, magnificent accomplishments!
I did also read somewhere that he wished to spend more time with family… I respect that immensely.
