September-October Trek Conventions

There will be nine conventions, shows or appearances in August and September that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

In September, there will be five conventions of note. From September 2-6, Dragon*Con will be held in Atlanta, Georgia. In attendance at Dragon*Con will be: William Shatner, Garrett Wang, Christopher Lloyd, James Darren, Nicole de Boer, Gates McFadden, Robert Duncan McNeill, Kate Mulgrew, Brent Spiner, Wil Wheaton, Nana Visitor, Tony Todd and Trek author A.C. Crispin.

The Captain’s Table will be held at the Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany from September 10-11. In attendance will be Sir Patrick Stewart, his son Daniel Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Garrett Wang.

On September 24, the Rochester Sci-Fi & Anime Convention, to be held at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, N.Y., will have J.G. Hertzler in attendance.

Also on September 24 will be the Sac Sci-Fi/Horror Show, which will be held at the Scottish Rite Center in Sacramento, California. In attendance will be Marina Sirtis.

Wrapping up September will be The Official Star Trek Convention, which will take place from September 30-October 2, and will be held at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. In attendance will be: Leonard Nimoy, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Nichelle Nichols, John de Lancie, Dominic Keating, Connor Trinneer, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and Arlene Martel.

This will be Leonard Nimoy’s final convention appearance.

October opens with Collectormania London, which will be held at the Earls Court Exhibition Center in London, England from October 1-2. In attendance at Collectormania London will be Armin Shimerman, the original series Eddie Paskey, and Dan Shor (Arridor on both Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Price and Star Trek: Voyager: False Profits).

From October 8-9, the Garden State Comic Con, a comic, toy, sci-fi and fantasy expo will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. In attendance at Garden State Comic Con will be Jonathan Frakes and John de Lancie.

Next up is the Mid-Ohio Comic Con, which will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center located in Columbus Ohio. The Mid-Ohio Comic Con will run from Oct 22-23 and in attendance will be Walter Koenig.

Wrapping up October will be Vulcan Events Away Mission. Held at the Hilton Orlando Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from Oct 28-30, Vulcan Events will feature Sir Patrick Stewart (in a rare Florida convention appearance,) Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, David Warner, Sherry Jackson, Jennifer Hetrick, Phil Morris (child actor in Miri), Rick Sternbach, Larry Nemecek and Loita Fatjo.
