Trek And Shatner Up For TCA Award

Star Trek and William Shatner are both up for Television Critics Association Awards.

The 2012 TCA Awards “recognize outstanding television programming in the 2011-2012 season, honoring both actors and producers in a variety of categories including news and information, youth, reality, drama and comedy achievements.”

NBC’s Star Trek was nominated for the TCA Heritage Award, which is given from a “long-standing program that has culturally or socially impacted society.”

Other nominees for the TCA Heritage Award include:

  • Cheers
  • Lost
  • Saturday Night Live
  • Twin Peaks

Shatner has been nominated for a TCA Career Achievement Award. Others nominated for the Career Achievement Award include:

  • Dick Clark
  • David Letterman
  • Andy Griffith
  • Regis Philbin

The 28th Annual TCA Award winners will be announced at an invitation-only presentation on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
