The Star Trek: The Original Topps Trading Card Series book has been released.

Written by Paula M. Block and Terry J. Erdmann, the two-hundred-and-sixteen page hardcover book features all eighty-eight Star Trek trading cards released in 1976.

The collectible trading cards showed images from Star Trek, as well as episode synopses and USS Enterprise cast/crew information.

The book contains images (front and back) of all of the cards, as well as images of twenty-two rare stickers, and commentary by Block and Erdman.

“We were thrilled when Abrams asked us to do the book because it’s a blast from the past that we hadn’t thought about for years,” said Block. “But when we mentioned it to our friends, we were shocked at how excited they were at the prospect of—at long last—having this entire set of cards in front of them.”

“What we didn’t expect was the effort that Abrams went to in recapturing the experience of the era,” said Erdman. “We knew they’d wrap the book in a waxy cover, but they even put in photos of the bubble gum—including a broken piece! That makes it way cool.”

Star Trek: The Original Topps Trading Card Series can be purchased here for $11.97.

  1. A similar book was released regarding the Topps card series “Mars Attacks”. A very interesting book, it discussed the art of each card, and some controversies surrounding it. They would make nice companion pieces.

  2. JJ wants to recapture the experience of the era? Perhaps he should start with making good Star Trek, then cancelling it abruptly and going away.
