November-December 2013 Trek Conventions And Appearances

There will be eleven conventions, shows or appearances in November and December that will feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.
November begins with the Central Canada Comic Con, which takes place from Nov. 1-3 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In attendance will be Avery Brooks, Lee Arenberg, Walter Koenig, Chris Sarandon, and Robert Duncan McNeill.
Hurricane Who will be held from Nov. 1-3, 2013 at the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at Sea World in Orlando, Florida. Aron Eisenberg and Chase Masterson will be at Hurricane Who.
The Rhode Island Comic Con will feature two original series actresses and will be held Nov. 1-3 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island. In attendance will be Julie Newmar, Joseph Gatt and Nichelle Nichols.
The Official Star Trek Convention will feature plenty of Trek actors, from four of the five televised series. This convention will take place Nov. 8-10 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California. In attendance will be Robert Beltran, James Darren, John de Lancie, Aron Eisenberg, Jonathan Frakes, Max Grodenchik, Gates McFadden, Lee Meriwether, Marina Sirtis, Suzie Plakson, Tim Russ, Jeri Ryan, and William Shatner.
Hal-Con will be held Nov. 8-10 at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Garrett Wang will be at Hal-Con.
Collectormania 20 will take place Nov. 15-17 at the MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes, England. In attendance at Collectormania 20 will be Dominic Keating, Judson Scott, Ethan Phillips, and Connor Trinneer.
Next up is the Austin Comic Con, to take place Nov. 22-24 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Two Trek captains, Scott Bakula and William Shatner, will be at the Austin Comic Con.
Lethbridge Entertainment Expo will take place Nov. 23-24 at the Lethbridge Exhibition Park West in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The Lethbridge Entertainment Expo will feature Marina Sirtis.
November wraps up with Starbase Indy which will be held from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at the Indianapolis Marriott East in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rene Auberjonois, Suzie Plakson and Armin Shimerman will be attending Starbase Indy.
December beings with the Steel City Con, which takes place from Dec. 6-8 at the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Pa. In attendance at the Steel City Con will be George Takei.
The other convention in December will be Reunion IX, which takes place Dec. 7 in Deggendorfer Stadthallen, in Deggendorf, Germany. Robin Curtis will be attending Reunion IX.

I’ll be headed with the family to the Convention in San Francisco…it’s actually near the airport which is barely 10 minutes from my house! And we’ll be bringing our 4 year old…I want him to be able to say later in life that he saw the Shat in person 🙂 !
I’d definitely avoid the Rhode Island comic con like the plague. If you do feel like going, do not waste your money on the VIP passes and don’t bother complaining to them about anything, as they will just say, “We’re addressing the issue, it’s just we’re new” even though they run another similar show that’s been going for a few years. Altered Reality Entertainment has experience in doing these shows, but they like to hide their name so you can’t point out that it is run by professionals instead of hobbyists/non-profits.
Ethan Phillips isn’t going to be at Collectormania 20 anymore. But the others are.
