Star Trek into DarknessRoberto Orci has signed on for the new movie adaptation of the Power Rangers.

The Power Rangers dates back to the 1990s when it began as the children’s series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

There have been two movies based on the popular characters; released in 1995 and 1997.

This latest Power Rangers movie will “completely re-envision the Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique superpowers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”

Orci, who has signed on as executive producer, will join Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men First Class) to develop the story, which will be written by Miller and Stentz.

  1. That seems to be more at his level.

    > completely re-envision

Re-inventing seems to be his thing. He can’t adapt to what’s already established–seems backwards to me; how can a guy like this keep getting employment?

  2. Seriously, can this man not do anything original? Everything he touches was created by someone else!

  3. I’m not a Power Rangers fan, but I feel genuinely bad for anyone who is because this guy will ruin it for them just like he helped ruin Star Trek for me. Sad really.

  4. okay i typically hate the overblown hatred for Into Darkness…….. but that was ephing hilarious
