Trek Fans Wed At Vegas Trek Con
1 min readStar Trek fans Mark Restucci, 47, and Amy Campbell, 49, are the first Trek fans to ever tie the knot at the annual Official Star Trek Convention held in Las Vegas.
The couple was married August 1, in a ceremony that recreated the Next Generation wedding of Riker and Troi.
Last autumn, Restucci popped the question on a life-sized mock-up of an Enterprise Bridge at the Arizona State Fair. The two have been life-long Trek fans, and met at the Vegas Star Trek convention in 2012.
Upon hearing of their engagement last autumn, a friend spoke to convention organizers who offered to host the wedding as part of their scheduled convention activities.
The bride wore a pink wedding dress, and the groom wore a white jacket. Members of the wedding party wore dress uniforms. Instead of floral bouquets, bridesmaids carried Tribbles.
The ceremony was non-denominational. “It’s more of a Starfleet thing,” said Campbell. “Star Trek means everything to us. It’s why we’re together.”
It was the second marriage for Restucci, whose first wife “loathed” Star Trek.

I think I can guess why.
All the best to them! That singing though…
Congratulations and best wishes! May the two of you live long and prosper.
It was my pleasure and my honor to take part in this event.
Wishing Mark and Amy all the best! :O)
