Shimerman Play Debuts Today

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Armin Shimerman will be appearing in The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord.

The play is a comedy, “based on the historical fact that Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Leo Tolstoy all wrote, or re-wrote their own versions of the Bible.”

In The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, the three characters are bought together in a “blistering battle of wits for the ages. Examine what happens when great men of history are forced to repeat it.”

Shimerman will take on the role of Leo Tolstoy. Thomas Jefferson will be played by Larry Cedar, and Charles Dickens will be played by David Melville.

The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord was written by Scott Carter, and directed by Matt August. The play opens today at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, and will run through November 15.
