New Funko Trek Character Figures

1 min read

TrekFigure1-021315

A new line of Star Trek action figures from Funko will arrive next month.

The ReAction range features retro-style figures and packaging.

The Star Trek action figures in the first release include Spock, Uhura, McCoy, and Sulu.

Each action figure is three-and-three-quarters of an inch high, with five points of articulation. The figure comes with a “1980s-style card back design.”

Each figure will sell for $9.99, and can be pre-ordered here for an anticipated March delivery.

  1. This is the initial release; I guess they plan on releasing him later (maybe they figure he’ s more popular — sell the others first?) The card back looks like it has the TOSR Enterprise. Still like these a lot.

  2. Hasbro COULD have done a 3.75-inch Trek toyline like they do with their Star Wars, Marvel superheroes, and G.I. Joe lines, but noooo, all they wanted to do was do was use Trek for their wannabe Lego Kre-O line.

Funko’s ReAction line gets some flak for being maybe being “too retro” at times, but I think they approach these as being toys first and whatever else second. These Star Trek figures are definitely as old school as anyone can get, but I think they kind of work that way.

  3. lmao, look at star trek trying to be like star wars vintage, never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, star trek is dead and gone, long live star wars.

  4. I suppose if I were a Star Wars dork (and they truly have done a great job demolishing the old mainstream wisdom that Star Wars was “cool”), I might know what “star wars vintage” is. On the other hand, Trek action figures were being sold well before Star Wars even existed. So as usual, you’re being an ill-informed tool.

  5. I simply don’t understand this retro thing? Back in the days we were complaining that the figures didn’t look anything like the real thing. Today we can buy figures with absolute character likeness – so why settle for this stuff? (not only Star Trek, i’m also talking about the Back to the future retro figures which look just horrible)
Can anyone explain this to me?

  6. Mostly vintage action figure nostalgia, IMO, and I think Funko’s ReAction line taps into that market.

  7. If there were Enterprise figures in the style of the 90’sPlaymates figures, I’d be good. I wish the Playmates toys had a little more articulation, but over all they were fantastic toys.
