With summer conventions approaching, a Tested video featuring Effects Artist Frank Ippolito shows Norm Chan how to make authentic Vulcan ear prosthetics.
The techniques used include “lifecasting, sculpting, mold-making, and casting.”
Ippolito explains what materials to use, and how to create realistic Vulcan ears. The video assumes that one has some knowledge in creating molds of one’s own ears. If not, there are videos online which show how to do this.
Even if one does not plan to make one’s own set of Vulcan ears, it’s interesting to watch the process of casting the Vulcan ears.
