A new YouTube video promoting the Star Trek: To Boldly Go campaign features Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin.

In the new video, there are a few glimpses of things that will be in Star Trek Beyond, including a new alien.

“The Star Trek: To Boldly Go campaign will support the cast’s personal selection of nine global causes, which will each receive equal portions of the funds raised when fans enter for a chance to win a walk-on role in director Justin Lin‘s Star Trek Beyond, the third film in the blockbuster franchise, released on July 8, 2016. The campaign runs from 12:01 a.m. PST on July 14th until 11:59 p.m. PST September 1st.

“A $10 donation is all that is needed to enter for a chance to win the once-in-a-lifetime experience. The more that is donated, the more chances one has of winning.

In addition to the Grand Prize winner, six winners will be chosen throughout the campaign to form an honorary “Star Trek: To Boldly Go” crew. One winner has already been chosen, a woman named Audrianna. Five more slots still remain!

  1. Looking at those pizza boxes full of Vulcan ears… Do they need that many backups, or are there perhaps a few Non-Spock Vulcans in the story? Seems plausible that they will want to address the stragglers or New Vulcan in some way…

  2. Prosthetic Vulcan ears are not very sturdy. I don’t know what things are like as they make the reboot movies, but when TOS was made, Leonard Nimoy wore a different pair of Vulcan ears every day.

While I’d love to see New Vulcan, I’m afraid the large number of Vulcan ears doesn’t mean that any other Vulcans are in the movie; all of these ears COULD be just for Spock.

  3. Yeah, I think they just give Quinto a fresh pair every day.

This was a pretty funny spot, and I hope the lucky fan has a good time on set.

  4. De bum bum de bum bum shake em shake em yeah yeah yeah!
    Tshhh Tshhh de de de.

  5. Ticky Ticky bum bum Ticky Ticky bum bum shabba shabba shabba shabba hey hey hey!

  6. Yeah! They’re like “hey, I said NO ears! And where the hell is the crazy bread?!”

  7. I think that’s true, and I shouldn’t read too much in, but I hope for a Vulcan presence outside of Spock for flavor and continuity. Even one little scene. On the original show they had two qualities of ears, and thankfully decided to pay for the expensive ones so as not to look foolish. They still look good on Blu Ray! Funny that they also painted those fancy ears out of early adverts to avoid spooking people with a potentially satanic looking character.
