On Wednesday, two new IDW Publishing Star Trek comics will be released but readers can have a sneak peek today.

They include Star Trek/Green Lantern #1: The Spectrum War, and Star Trek: New Visions: 1971/4860.2.

Star Trek/Green Lantern #1: The Spectrum War, begins the six-part Star Trek/Green Lantern crossover series.

In The Spectrum War “Two iconic franchises collide! The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise meets the Green Lantern Corps for the first time in an all-new adventure that spans the cosmos! In the thrilling first chapter of The Spectrum War, Kirk and Spock make a most unusual discovery on a lost world…igniting events that will change the fate of empires.”

Written by Mike Johnson with art by Angel Hernandez and a cover by Gabriel Rodriguez, the crossover series will also feature variant covers by Francesco Francavilla, Elsa Charretier, Ethan Van Sciver, Barry Kitson and Garry Brown. Brown has actually created six connecting variant covers, one for each issue that will ultimately form one giant image.

In addition, there will be a blank sketch variant.

Star Trek/Green Lantern #1: The Spectrum War will run 32 pages and cost $3.99.

Star Trek: New Visions: 1971/4860.2 will also arrive on Wednesday. This comic is written and features art and photo manipulation by John Byrne. In Star Trek: New Visions: 1971/4860.2, “Captain Kirk sets off alone on a mission that will carry him two hundred years into his past…but he won’t be alone for long. Gary Seven returns!”

Forty-eight pages in length, Star Trek: New Visions: 1971/4860.2 will cost $7.99.
