New Trek Series To Film Outside of U.S.?

1 min read

According to the Pop Goes The News site, the new Star Trek television series, due to begin next year, will begin filming in Canada next year.

The show has booked studio space in Toronto beginning in September.

This won’t be the first Toronto show for Executive Producer Byran Fuller, who is currently overseeing the production of Starz‘s American Gods in Toronto. Three seasons of NBC’s Hannibal was also filmed in the city.

The new Trek series will “introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.”

There has been no confirmation of this story, so for now, treat it as rumor.
