Star Trek At San Diego Comic-Con

For those fans fortunate enough to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there will be Trek activities galore.
First of all, Star Trek Beyond will premiere at the Comic-Con.
A Star Trek panel, titled Star Trek: Celebrating 50 Years, will take place Saturday July 23 at Hall H from 2 to 3 PM. Moderated by Bryan Fuller, the panel will feature William Shatner, Scott Bakula, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, and Jeri Ryan.
In this panel, the actors will “take the stage to reflect on fifty years of Star Trek and its indelible mark on our world, as well as what’s to come as the franchise gets ready to boldly return to the small screen.”
The 50 Artists 50 Years art exhibit will debut at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts gallery in San Diego (363 Fifth Avenue #102). This exhibit will feature “Trek-inspired works by fifty artists from around the globe, including the last piece created by Leonard Nimoy. The art will include “illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, graphics and more.”
The MAC cosmetic display will be located in Children’s Park across from the Convention Center. Their twenty-five piece collection includes items such as nail polish, lipstick and eye shadows.
Star Trek panels will be held at the Comic-Con, including:
- Trek Talks: Science, Smithsonian and Star Trek. Fri July 22 Room 5AB 6:30-7:30 PM. Dr. Margaret Weitekamp, Dr. Sonny Kohli, David Grier, Dr. Rob Afzal and Elizabeth Trojian.

- Star Trek The Official Starships Collection: Designing and Filming Starships. Sat Jul 23 Room 28 D/3 3-4 PM. Dan Curry, Ben Robinson.
- Star Trek: Five Decades of Comics. Fri Jul 22 Room 8 1:30-2:30 PM. Len Wein, Scott Tipton, Mike Johnson, John Van Citters, J.K. Woodward, Sarah Gaydos.
Comic-Con is known for its merchandise and there will be plenty for Trek fans. A Mega Blok red, yellow and blue mini-Enterprise will be available at various Star Trek licensee booths throughout the convention. Follow @StarTrek on Twitter to find out where to get these ships.
