Art fans will enjoy the Star Trek: Discovery Gallery Takeover, to be held Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, July 23 at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts Gallery, which is located on 363 Fifth Avenue. At this event, fans can “interact with the captain’s chair from the U.S.S. Discovery along with props and costumes taken directly from set. Each day, one thousand fans will also be eligible to receive a limited-edition Star Trek: Discovery poster.” Note that no badge is needed for this event.
Fans can also have fun riding in pedicabs designed to resemble the U.S.S. Discovery‘s captain’s chair. “The pedicabs will feature the series’ chair’s distinctive stitched black seats as well as video monitors built into its arm rests which, in this case, will screen trailers for the highly anticipated new show. As an added touch, each vehicle will display an illuminated U.S.S. Discovery delta shield on the back. “The free rides run Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23 traveling throughout San Diego’s Gaslamp District.
Finally, Comic-Con attendees can take part in the #TrekDiscovery Challenge. “On Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22, Comic-Con attendees can encounter costumed ambassadors representing the first five Star Trek series: The Original Series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and Enterprise.
“Fans who post photos on Twitter or Instagram tagged #TrekDiscovery with each of the five series’ crews, plus one of themselves seated in the Discovery captain’s chair, will be eligible to win a Roku streaming stick and a subscription to CBS All Access.”
