Blessing Passes

Jack Blessing, best-known to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fans as Temporal Investigations agent Dulmar, is dead at the age of sixty-six.

Born in Baltimore in 1951, Blessing appeared on many television shows as well as in movies from the early 1980s on. In addition to his Trials and Tribble-ations guest star role, he could be seen in Moonlighting as MacGillicudy, and on Quincy M.E., M*A*S*H, Family Ties, China Beach, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls, Cybil, The Naked Truth, Everyone Love Raymond, NYPD Blue, The X-Files and more.

Blessing’s son posted the news on Facebook. “I love you, Dad,” he said. “The last year-and-a-half was a gift to us, as was your entire life. We’re the luckiest family in the world. Best of luck in the astral plane. I know you’re going to crush it.”

The actor died last month of pancreatic cancer. Blessing is survived by his wife Lora, and sons Ian and Christopher.
