Anson Mount Joins Star Trek: Discovery

Anson Mount has been cast in Star Trek: Discovery as Captain Christopher Pike.
In the original series, Pike was portrayed by Jeffrey Hunter and Sean Kenney. In the J.J. Abrams‘ rebooted Star Trek, Bruce Greenwood took on the role.
Mount was recently seen in ABC‘s Inhumans, and some of his other work includes AMC‘s Hell on Wheels, Non-Stop, and NBC‘s Conviction.
“Cat’s out of the bag,” said Mount via his Twitter account. “Yep, I have officially joined Starfleet, a dream I’ve had since around the age of eight when I first discovered TOS syndicated on my local access channel in middle TN. And couldn’t be more excited to be playing Pike!”
