New Netflix Series Adds Three Trek Actors

1 min read

Netflix is redoing 1980’s The Dark Crystal as a new series; and several Star Trek actors will be taking part.

The new series, called The Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance, is a prequel to the original movie, and will feature the “world of Thra and the Crystal of Truth being corrupted by the powers of the Skeksis,” and “Gelfing Rian (Taron Egerton), Brea (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Deet (Nathalie Emmanuel) discover the secret of the Skeksis and begin a rebellion to take back their planet.”

Trek actors supplying voices for the show include: Star Trek: Discovery‘s Shazad Latif and Jason Isaacs, and Star Trek Beyond‘s Simon Pegg.

Mark Hamill will also be among the many actors providing a voice for a character.

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of Original Series, said: “We knew we had to entice some incredible voice talent to add dimension to the exquisite artistry of the puppeteers who bring the characters to life.

“I am proud to say that this may be one of the finest casts assembled from the world’s favorite TV shows and movies.”

Look for Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance next year.
