Moore To Adapt Outlander Novels
1 min readRonald D. Moore (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager) will be adapting Diana Gabaldon‘s fantasy/romance/adventure Outlander series.
The Outlander books are a series of seven books that have sold over twenty million copies since publication began. An eighth title is due out next year.
The Outlander stories feature Claire, “a married WWII combat nurse who accidentally steps back in time to the Scottish Highlands of 1743. Catapulted without warning into the intrigues of lairds and spies that send her on the run and threaten her life she is forced to marry Jamie, a gallant and passionate young Scots warrior, igniting a passionate love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire…and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.”
Moore will write the series adaptation. Jim Kohlberg‘s Story Mining and Supply Co will produce. The project will be introduced to cable networks this week.
