If everything works out, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Joe Hill, will be part of The CW’s makeover of George A. Romero‘s Tales from the Darkside.

Tales from the Darkside was a weekly half-hour anthology series that included tales from the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres. It aired in the early 1980s.

Hill, the son of Stephen King, would write the shows, which would air in the same thirty-minute format as the original series. Hill, Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin, and Jerry Golod would executive produce.

Tales from the Darkside may air next summer.

  1. Because Orci and Kurtzman have no real ideas of their own. Far easier to make money off other people’s work!

  2. I will say this. The things that they’ve produced for television are generally decent to good. Put those pitchforks down, I said PRODUCED. (And for TELEVISION. Their feature film producer track record is… spotty.) As long as they’re not writing I’m down with it. Plus, Joe Hill King has proven himself as a talented and creative writer.
Alright, bring on the rotten vegetables, I’ve got my raincoat.

  3. I actually don’t care about this particular project, I just don’t like Orci or Kurtzman. How these idiots have Hollywood careers, I don’t think I’ll ever understand. It makes me even grumpier when I think of my friend, David Howard, who wrote the awesome film “Galaxy Quest,” and yet hasn’t been able (i.e. hired) to write a film since, while these no talent hacks are the toast of the town. It makes me sick!

  4. More reason to applaud their move into producing. May their plates be so full that they never set pencil to paper again.
