Nimoy Documentary To Be Produced

Leonard Nimoy‘s son Adam Nimoy is going to make a documentary about his father.
The documentary will be called For the Love of Spock.
The project has been in the works for a while, said Adam Nimoy, begun when his father was still alive. “He felt as if he had plenty of time, but then he declined precipitously. I was struck with the outpouring of affection for him after he died, so this feels like the right thing to do.”
This will be a tribute to my dad and Spock,” said Nimoy. “We have plenty to work from because my dad loved telling stories and he was very fond of the role.”
The documentary will focus on the “enduring nature of Spock, and Nimoy’s portrayal of the relentlessly logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise.”
For the Love of Spock will be narrated by Zachary Quinto, and William Shatner is expected to make an appearance in it.

I really enjoyed the video of “Leonard Nimoy’s Boston” that Leonard and Adam Nimoy made together. I hope this documentary will be good.
I read Adam Nimoy’s autobiography, and his feelings towards his father — and towards his father’s most famous role — are complicated and include quite a lot of negative feeling. Given how he feels, I can’t help but wonder if Adam Nimoy is really the right person for this project.
Rod Roddenberry didn’t exactly have the best terms with his family and Trek Nation turned out okay.
We shall see.
Unfortunate that Nimoy was defined almost entirely by Star Trek. What about Whales Alive? The topics of Mr. Spock and Nimoy as Spock have been thoroughly explored. If there is a documentary, it should look at Nimoy as a citizen instead.
A better title would have been “I was Spock”, which is a play on the title of Nimoy’s previous books, “I am not Spock” and “I am Spock”.
Or perhaps “I have been and always shall be Spock”.
He still is. This new guy, not so much.
