1 min readCanadian television viewers will get to see William Shatner as a guest star on Murdoch Mysteries later this year.
Murdoch Mysteries is currently in production for its ninth season, due to air on CBC this autumn.
Shatner will take on the role of Mark Twain in his guest appearance. Actor Yannick Bisson, who plays William Murdoch on the series, tweeted out the news with a photo of the call sheet for the episode.
“Based on the series of novels by Maureen Jennings, Murdoch Mysteries is set at the turn of the 20th century and revolves around Detective William Murdoch of the Toronto constabulary, who uses ground-breaking forensic techniques to close his cases.”
“On the set of Murdoch Mysteries with @yannick_bisson,” said Shatner, via his Tumblr site. “I play Mark Twain look for me coming soon!” Shatner included a photo of himself as Mark Twain.
Murdoch Mysteries will air on CBC in the autumn, and next year on UKTV’s Alibi Channel.

Also available on Ovation in the U.S as The Artful Detective.
No idea as to the name change, but they did have an episode by the name of the Artful Detective last season.
It’s a secret Mr. Nimoy (RIP) took to his grave.
As long as he’s less annoying than Jerry Hardin’s Mark Twain in “Time’s Arrow” he should be OK.
I saw the headline and my first thought was “He’s going to be on Orphan Black?” Of course that’s wrong, but I would love to see him on Orphan Black.
Kang would make a tasteless K/S joke here, but Kang thinks it’s time to bury those as well.
