Shatner Charity Ride Details Finalized
2 min readRecently, TrekToday posted an article about William Shatner’s charity motorcycle ride across the US, and now the final details of the trip have been released.
Shatner will be taking his ride across the historic Route 66 for most of the trip, traveling from Chicago to Los Angeles.
Teaming up with American Wrench and riding a “Rivet” motorcycle, Shatner’s trip will take eight days, beginning June 23 and ending June 30. Stops will include St. Louis, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, and then Los Angeles.
“Having this unique opportunity to design and build a custom machine for William Shatner, we knew it had to be nothing short of amazing,” said American Wrench Owner/Designer Kevin Sirotek. “Our vision with Rivet is simple, to give the most thrilling motor experience possible.”
Shatner will be accompanied by a team from American Wrench, and members of The American Legion Riders. In addition to showcasing American Wrench‘s Rivet motorcycle, the actor will be “raising awareness for the work The American Legion Riders does nationwide.”
“I am taking another step into the unknown,” said Shatner. “A phenomenal bike made by American Wrench, and a 2,400 mile journey, where the road holds the big mystery.”
“The journey will also be documented for an upcoming television show. The show will follow Shatner and company on their voyage through each city and traveling along the route. There will be opportunities in each city for people to come out and see the Rivet in person and meet Shatner and the rider.”
So, I guess that’s a recumbent motorcycle, in the same way that there are recumbent bicycles? That does look better for an 84-year-old man.
Looks like a trike, actually. A steampunk dragster Batmobile trike.
Hee! Good description. 🙂
In other words…the Shatmobile?
Na na na na na na na na SHAT-MAAAAN!!!
