Shatner Paternity Suit Refiled

1 min read

Peter Michael Sloan‘s paternity suit against William Shatner was shot down by a US federal court judge recently, but the sixty-year-old has come back with a new lawsuit.

In this new suit, Sloan wants a jury trial and he believes that he can win. “I’m pretty sure this case is strong,” said Sloan. “Right from the start in 1984, it’s been exasperating. I kind of let it go for years, but it was my daughter in 2011, [who] suggested we go meet him.

“There’s always been the big question mark, only because he refuses to take a (paternity) test.”

According to Sloan, his later mother, Canadian actress Kathy McNeil, and Shatner had a brief romantic relationship when the two worked in Toronto. McNeil gave up Sloan for adoption when he was five days old.

“The only thing I’ve only ever taken from my father was the name,” said Sloan. “That’s my birthright. I think a relationship (with him) is not a plausible issue.”
