1 min read

WonderCon attendees to J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek panel saw the new trailer that will debut with Watchman next week and which featured James T. Kirk.

As reported by Newsarama.com, Abrams, after asking the audience to refrain from recording what they were about to see, showed the new trailer which featured mostly new footage, including space battles and hand-to-hand fighting. In addition to Kirk, all of the main cast members were seen in the footage.
After viewing the trailer, fans were able to ask questions of Executive Producer Bryan Burke, Co-writer Roberto Orci, and actors Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana.

Abrams told a fan that he wanted to give established fans what they wanted and there were many references in Star Trek XI to the original series. He claimed that the movie was made for the fans first. Co-writer Orci added that new fans would be able to learn about the original series for the first time.
