Bidding War For Abrams Spy Drama

Several networks are in a bidding war for a drama spec script by J.J. Abrams and John Reims (Felicity.)

ABC, CBS and NBC are all trying to land the spy drama, and NBC seems to be close to landing the deal.

The Abrams’ drama concerns a married couple who are both spies, and who work together. Abrams is familiar with this genre courtesy of Alias, which ran for five seasons from 2001-2006.

Abrams has gone the spec route before with the sci-fi drama Fringe, which also sparking a bidding war in 2007, which was won by Fox.
