Original Series Soundtrack Collection
1 min readGood news for fans of the music from the original series, a fifteen-CD box set featuring every episode score will be released this fall.
La-La Land Records will release Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection as a limited-edition boxed set collection.
The music has “been remastered from studio elements and will include hours of fantastic material not previously available in any format.” The set will include a one hundred page booklet of in-depth liner notes.
“For forty-five years, those like me who love this music could only dream about having it all,” said Lukas Kendall, who produced the album. “This is the major, historical piece of sci-fi music, television music and pop culture music that we have always wanted to release in a definitive form for the collector.”
“A majority of the music featured in this set has never been released,” said Executive Album Producer and La-La Land Records President MV Gerhard. Of that unreleased music, there is a fairly large percentage that no one has ever heard because it was written and recorded for the show, but never featured in the episodes.”
Fan interest will determine how many sets of Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection will be made. To sign up for the Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection mailing list, head to the link located here.
As more information becomes available, TrekToday will update fans regarding pricing and a release date for the set.
